Biography

Work hard. Be honest. Be on time – the three principles that shaped Lesa Pamplin’s childhood, her commitment to public service and her passionate advocacy for justice and fairness. Lesa Pamplin was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Alvin and Ressie Pamplin, who were married for seventy-one years. Lesa’s dad, a Navy veteran, taught middle school social studies and history for thirty-three years. In all those years, he only missed one day in the classroom – because his wife was in labor. Lesa often tells people “if you’re on time, you’re late” – a lesson she credits to her father. Lesa’s mom worked at AT&T and retired after 26 years. She was the apple of Lesa’s eye and the source of Lesa’s passion and courage to stand up for what she believes in. From an early age, Lesa wanted to be a police officer after watching a favorite childhood show, “The Mod Squad”. Her parents supported her dream and, after graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, she moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and became a police officer with the City of Arlington in 1986.

Lesa Pamplin served and protected the Arlington, TX community for six years. In that time, she received an award for saving the life of an Arlington resident. An encounter with two suspects led to a knee injury that ended Lesa’s law enforcement career. Devastated by the injury, Lesa’s parents challenged her to find another avenue for her public service heart and passion. So, she did. In 1994, Lesa began law school at Texas A&M University School of Law. During law school, Lesa interned at the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office – Domestic Violence Unit. In 1997, Lesa graduated from law school and passed the bar. Shortly thereafter, she began her legal career as a prosecutor at the Tarrant County DA’s Office. Lesa worked as a prosecutor from 1998 to 2004 and handled misdemeanor and felony cases. In 2004, Lesa opened her law firm, Law Office of Lesa Pamplin, PC, and has been passionately representing individuals charged with crimes ever since.

Lesa Pamplin has extensive criminal law knowledge and expertise as a trial attorney. She is a member of the L. Clifford Davis Legal Association, Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and The Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. She is also a member of the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Xi Theta Omega Chapter where she extends her talents and passion to be of “service to all mankind.”

Even as a child, Lesa Pamplin knew that she wanted to be a public servant, and she continues to serve, advocate, and protect the rights of others. When Lesa is not in the courtroom, she enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs – Cleo and Star.
